A boat trip

​How to get from the boarder of Laos and Thailand to Luang Prabang? 

You take a boat (or the bus but what would be better than two days on the Mekong river?!?!)!

The boat trip is a nice option as you probably are on the boat with some of your new friends from the gibbon experience and, stuck on a boat for hours, you will make more friends for sure. The scenery is beautiful and you will finally have some time to read. Do not expect the ride to be very comfortable but I have been most definately on worse transportation. Here everyone had a place to sit eventhough it might be smaller than you are wide. Half way you stop in Pakbeng where you stay for the night. We found a room on arrival and there is no need to worry about dinner, breakfast or snacks the next day. All of the above are available in Pakbeng. Make sure to get to the boat early the next morning to save yourself a good spot to sit. Moving the seats back and forth will not give you an advantage since the boat will be full and everyone needs some space to sit. Remember, you are in south east asia not everything is as comfortable as you would want it to be but that is part of the adventure.
