While planning our further travels we realized once again what kind of travellers we are. I would say we are in the middle of what is travelling around us. Not every minute or day is planned but we like to have a rough idea and like to book some things in advance. We do not seem to belong to the just-go-with-the-flow-backpackers.
We are on a budget but we treat ourselves with nice things once in a while and we love good food. While streetfood is not expensive, exciting and mostly very good it is nice to sit down and enjoy a meal sitting in a nice location.
Another thing we realized is that travelling with your partner rather than by yourself does change things. We stayed in quite a few dorms on this trip and on our vacations before our big trip but as a couple on the road the private room is a luxury we love. Usually a double room is not much more expensive than a dorm room and the sleep and private time you get is worth it.
Reducing the price a little is always nice but there are times when there is no need for that. We saw western backpackers argue over what would be 20-50 euro cents. If the price is set walk or do not buy it but there is no need in starting a big arguement.
Travelling made us a little more relaxed and when money starts to get really slim we just come back home.
